1872 (14 Dec) outer FL from Zyrardow, sent via Sokolow to Elzbietow, franked with Russia 1k and 3x3k (all horizontally laid paper), paying 10k rate, stamps tied by Cyrillic "Ruda Guzowskoye", repeated on back, with Sokolow transit alongside, also "Helle & Ditrich Zyrardow" datestamp on front, fine usage from Zyrardow (a town founded by the Lubienski brothers as a textile factory in 1833. One of directors of the factory was a French inventor Philippe de Girard. As the town of Ruda Guzowska developed into a significant textile mill, it was renamed "Zyrardow" (a Polonised spelling of Girard's name). A sign near the entrance to the town states that it was the only city in Europe, entirely set up for a factory (jedyna w Europie osada fabryczna)

1943 flown cover to USA, franked with 2sh KUT George VI adhesive, tied by faint cds, with return address of "Africa Uganda Koja, Polish Settlement," censor seal at left, some cover wear, fine and rare (located in a beautiful setting on a peninsula jutting out into Lake Victoria, surrounded by water on three sides and jungle and savanna on the fourth, Koja was some 30 kilometers from the nearest railway station and 60 kilometers from Kampala, too far to allow for much contact with the outside world. At its peak, Koja accommodated around 3,000 Polish refugees)
