 | Lot #128 United States - Air Post Flight Covers 1914 (17-18 Sep) Clayton, New Mexico. Fair Grounds Aviation Meet. During this meet, exhibition flights were given by the Rodgers Aviation Company owned and managed by the widow of the late "Cal" Rodgers, pilot of "Vin Fiz" fame. Flights were made by aviator Floyd Smith. A ppc (Martin Tractor and Floyd Smith), franked with a defective 1c green, tied by oval "First Aeroplane Post Office, Clayton, New Mex, Sept. 18, 1914" datestamp, card creased and somewhat dirty, nevertheless rare, one of only 4 (!) known,
