United States - Air Post Flight Covers
1933 Round-the-world flight, New York to Haiti, pilot J. Errol Boyd, small cover, pilot signed, U.S. and Haiti franking, with special red cachet, fine and scarce cover (Errol Boyd's first nonstop flight from New York City to Haiti, covered a greater distance than that from Newfoundland to Ireland. Some 5,000 spectators cheered his takeoff from New York. On his return flight he carried gifts from Haiti’s president to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Boyd became the first airman to have two countries issue special stamps for his flights (Canada and Haiti)
