 | Lot #459 BRITISH COMMONWEALTH CANADIAN PROVINCES - Nova Scotia 1851-57 3p blue, two horizontal pairs (slightly overlapping), full to large margins all around, tied by oval grid cancels on FL sent to Halifax, paying the double weight plus registration rate, with "Registered" manuscript at left and Halifax (June 26 1856) arrival, with Kernville (June 25) departure on reverse, v.f. and rare, one of only three known covers with the two pair franking, this being the earliest recorded, ex-Mayer and Wilkinson collections, photographed in the Canadian Philatelic (Volume 56, No.4, page 211)  Catalog #2 | Price Realized $2,900.00 |
