1878 Indian Woman, 2r carmine rose, tied by "18" numeral cancel on cover (opened for display) to London, with "Correos De Zacapa 25 Apr 1879" departure cds alongside, "via California" endorsement and "T NY" handstamp, additional markings on back include 28 April Guatemala datestamp, San Francisco and New York transits and London 2 June arrival in red, fine cover, ex-Matthews correspondence (postings to England via the United states was a favored tactic of correspondents as the rate was only 2r being partially paid to England, rather than the foreign rate to England of 4R). Of the approximately fifteen covers known with the 2r carmine rose, most are pairs or in combination with other values or postal entires; of these apparently only three covers are known to England using this single 2r rate
