 | Lot #202 ARGENTINA Flight Covers 1929 (31 Oct) flight cover from San Antonio Oeste to Bahia Blanca, with pre-printed "Lineas Internas y Linea Bs. Aires - Asuncion" and "Via Aerea Aeroposta Argentina," Bahia Blanca arrival cds, signed by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, v.f., only 17 flown. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery was an aristocrat, French writer, poet and pioneering aviator. He became a laureate of several of France's highest literary awards and also won the U.S. National Book Award. He is best remembered for his novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) and for his lyrical aviation writings, including Wind, Sand and Stars and Night Flight. He was a successful commercial pilot working airmail routes in Europe, Africa and South America. At the outbreak of WWII he joined the French Air Force, flying reconnaissance missions until France's armistice with Germany in 1940.
