 | Lot #1477 RUSSIA - SIBERIA 1926 "Autonomous Siberia" issue, prepared in Shanghai, 1k-10r perforated 12 1/2, group of 21 different showing coat of arms and white polar bears, all with gum, h.r., some faults, mostly fine or better. An intriguing group of privately prepared stamps, attributed to General Sazonov. This speculative issue was authorized by a self-appointed Government of Siberia in Exile. The "Sazonov Government" was the last anti-Soviet Government formed in Vladivostok. It lasted less than a week before leaving with the Japanese, where it resided (in Kyoto) until 1925.
