| Lot #864 IRAN 1912 (13 June) cover from Meched to Tabriz, franked on back with pair of 2ch and 9ch adhesives, tied by oval departure datestamps, sent via Dzulfa, with Cyrillic "Dzulfa-Erivan 10.612" cds applied and Tauris arrival cds alongside, filing creases through the stamps, otherwise a fine item, neatly described on an exhibition page. Russian forces occupied Gilan and Azerbaijan provinces from September 1911 to March 1912. While the Iranian government re-established order in August of 1912, mail service remained chaotic and much was routed through the Russian postal system
