1912 (13 June) cover from Meched to Tabriz, franked on back with pair of 2ch and 9ch adhesives, tied by oval departure datestamps, sent via Dzulfa, with Cyrillic "Dzulfa-Erivan 10.612" cds applied and Tauris arrival cds alongside, filing creases through the stamps, otherwise a fine item, neatly described on an exhibition page. Russian forces occupied Gilan and Azerbaijan provinces from September 1911 to March 1912. While the Iranian government re-established order in August of 1912, mail service remained chaotic and much was routed through the Russian postal system
