 | Lot #2223 IRELAND 1927 Composite Setting Se-Tenant Pairs (83a-85a) 1927 2sh6p chocolate brown, upper left sheet corner margin block of four, the so-called abnormal setting (Narrow Dates at top, Wide Dates at bottom), used (cancellation is genuine, but most probably by favor to Prof. Renouf of Cork in the 1930s), v.f. After the 5sh and 10sh sheets were overprinted, one (perhaps more) 2sh6p sheets were similarly overprinted, but on the odd-numbered rows only; further substitutions were then made to create the "normal" 2sh6p plate, before the even-numbered rows received the overprint.
