 | Lot #2117 IRELAND 1922 Thom - Seahorses Blue Black Ink (SG 44-46) 1922 10sh dull gray blue, variety Major Re-entry of Plate 5A (R.1/1), single Dublin December 27, 22 cds, well centered, v.f. Only 5 examples of this variety are known, of which this is the only one used. This major Re-entry consists of extensive doubling of the lines on the white Seahorse, horizontal and vertical lines of the shield, the shading behind the head of Britannia and some of the letters in "Postage". A circular datestamp of December 27, 1922 from Dublin, confirms the proper time of use.
