 | Lot #2235 United States - Postal Stationery Postal Cards 1916 1c green, Die I, gray, rough surfaced paper postal card (USPCC S38), unused without printed address, pristine fresh and v.f., with 1992 PFC. In 1916, during a war-time paper shortage, this substandard grade of card stock was used only temporarily, for a period of about two months. They were not sold individually, but were supplied to printers, which accounts for their great rarity without printed addresses (the printed address cards catalogue only $625) (USPCC cat. $4,000),
