1850 6kr brown, hand-made paper, type Ib, block of six, margins all around except just in at lower right, tied by "Tarnow 21.9" cds on registered cover to Lemberg, with additional single added on reverse, paying 42kr rate, horizontal filing fold affecting the bottom strip of the block, also little toning at lower left, fine and impressive franking, with 1980 Ferchenbauer certificate (cat. Euro 9,500 for used block of six off cover) (Scott's $7,000 for used block of four, off cover)

1864 (1 Dec) registered cover (opened for display), franked on both sides with 5kr (2) and 15kr (6), paying 100kr from Bodenbach to His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Alexander II in St. Petersburg, stamps tied by Bodenbach 1/12 cds, framed "recomandirt" in red, also boxed Railway Station and St. Petersburg Chancellery 23 Nov 1864 arrival postmark (there was a 13 day difference between Julian and Gregorian calendars), back of the envelope is heavily restored, with small piece missing at top, still a remarkable usage to Russia
