The suburb was occupied by Italy in 1941, and was renamed together with Fiume and the Kupa River areas, as Fiume and Kupa Zone. Overprinted Yugoslav stamps were issued for the area between 1941-1942. After 26 May, 1942 overprinted stamps were no longer valid and regular Italian issues were used.
