POLAND
1866 Russia 10k brown and blue, tied by "1" in four squares (type III) on cover used in 1871 from Warszawa (departure pmks in Cyrillic only on back) to Smogorzew, via Przysucha (Radom gouv), bearing two-line arrival datestamp in Cyrillic "Przisuskaya Sta(ncya) dnia 12 June, 1871" (rare). After 1865, in the process of the generalized and intensified Russification of the Kingdom of Poland, the last Polish and bilingual cancellations were removed from the post offices. Under the pretext of non-availability, St. Petersburg supplied most of the postal agencies with the provincial two-line datestamps in Cyrillic letters, identical to those used in Russia proper
