BRITISH COMMONWEALTH PAPUA NEW GUINEA
1966-1984 One of the legendary printers of hundreds of stamp and souvenir sheets (for 60+ countries), the Swiss firm of Courvoisier S.A., created a tradition of innovation and the utmost quality in photogravure printing for philatelic products. The archive was created by drawing from the company's files of unfinished stamps, imperforate (as issued) and usually with progressive proofs showing each component color, stage and the final product. From the sheets in their possession, only one of each item was retained, hence these archival plate proofs are unique. The selection here consists of 21 different issues, including Education, Pacific War, Musical instruments, Native artifacts and dwellings, Aviation, Missionaries, Independence, Tourist Scenes, Science, National Day, Agriculture, Potteries, Father Ross, Telecommunication, Canoes, Survey Flight etc., all mounted on 30 original pages, total of 435 pieces, v.f.
