The second "Columbia" started on October 9th from Montreal. While a special stamp was authorized by the Newfoundland government, American Air Mail Catalogue states "some letters were carried bearing regular postage stamps; a few covers are known bearing Canadian postage, cancelled at Montreal on September 12."
