1849 Hungarian Uprising, FL endorsed "Sud Armee" on front, with "Feldpost Sud Armee 28/8" date stamp on reverse, with Znaim departure, re-addressed to Baaden, Eszeg transit on reverse, fine and very rare historical cover. In April-May, 1849 Hungarian general Gorgei defeated Austrian commander Windischgratz in a series of smart actions, forcing the Austrians to evacuate Hungary

HUNGARY
1921 5,000k dark green and pale blue, Madonna and Child, center inverted, l.h., well centered, faint horizontal crease in bottom margin (which is common to this error), v.f., with clear 1964 BPA and 2002 Philatelic Foundation Certificates. A beautiful stamp. One of the premier Inverted Centers of 20th century Europe and certainly one of the finest of the less than 100 examples reported (used and unused), of which at least 38 are tied up in museums (Mi.379I)
