 | Lot #1370 RUSSIA Air Post Officials 1922 1,200m on 50k, overprint type V, (length of the "P.C.F.C.P." is 32,9 mm, the letter "C" is almost closed) position 13, hinge remnant, well centered, handstamped guarantees on back include "Romeko - Paris", Z. Mikulski and two others, v.f., with 1985 Zbigniew Mikulski certificate ("Es existieren nur zwei bogen, was bedeutet, dass diese marke im Type V is nur in ZWEI stucken bekannt. Die grosste Russland und Flugpost seltenheit. Erhaltung: einwandfrei und sehr schon, mit vollen original gummi"). Only two sheets of the 50 kopeck value (50 stamps) are known to have been surcharged. Type V occurs only once per sheet and only two exist (the other example resides in a well-known prominent collection of RSFSR). As such, this is truly one of the most important rarities of Russian Airpost and the highlight RSFSR philately. As a measure of comparison, an inverted "Levanevsky" with small "f" (of which only 10 were printed, six recorded including two in the unique combination block of four) realized $718,750 in * Catalog #CO6 | Unsold
