1921 (23 Aug) registered cover from Petrograd (headed "representative of Osmond Limited Birmingham, for Russia and Finland') to France (addressed to Theodore Champion in Paris, a famous philatelist and a well known stamp dealer) paying 15r with two singles, pair and a strip of three of 2r on front and single 1r on back, v.f., with red crayon "598" markings, foreign departure (August 30), v.f., signed Champion. The first definitive series was issued on 10th August and both domestic and foreign rates went up more that a hundred times on August 15 and August 25th respectively. Properly used covers franked with these first definitives are extremely rare
