 | Lot #2137 RUSSIA - ZEMSTVO SPASSK 1897 (30 May) combination cover (opened for display) from some village in Spassk district (Ryazan) government, addressed to Obukhova village in Bogorodsk district (Moscow government), franked with uncancelled local imperf. 3k black, conveyed via state post, with Imperial 7k added on back and tied by Spassk departure cds, repeated on front, arriving in Bogorodsk Zemstvo Head Post Office, where perf. 4k ("dolgovaya" indebted) stamp was added to pay the required fee for local delivery, tied by violet (3 June) cds. For reasons unknown, there is a vertical cut affecting both Spassk and Imperial adhesives, with minor paper strengthening, fine appearance, with some penciled notations (partly erased, but similar to Kirchner's markings), ex-legendary Baughman collection. According to Dr.Nikitin, this is the latest recorded Bogorodsk Zemstvo Post and only known Spassk-Bogorodsk combination).
