 | Lot #1244 PERU Peru - CHILEAN OCCUPATION 1880-84 collection on pages, 55+ covers and three coverfronts, mostly ex-Harvey Weeks and A.Puppo, franked with Chilean stamps, 5c claret, used in Arequipa, Cobija, Tacna, Pisagua, Trujillo (covers without stamps but with "Franca por falta de estampillas" handstamps, endorsed "Pagado un sol por poste" and sent to Lima), Pacmayo (stampless), Iquique, with Naval "Vapor Tolten Chile" handstamp, due markings including "Multadada 10c Tacna," incoming mail with interesting markings, "Esplotacion del Guano de Mejillones", postal stationery cancelled in Cobija", covers from Antofagasta to Iquique, others with "Franca" and elaborate handstamps, one to Valparaiso; military markings incl. "Batallon Tacna," mail from Coquimbo to Pisagua, covers from Arica, Iquique and Pisagua to London, mixed condition

 | Lot #1245 PERU Peru - CHILEAN OCCUPATION 1880 (4 June) large coverfront (partly restored), paying 8.36 pesos, or 76 times the 11c "via Panama" rate, with single 1c, 5c, 10c and 20c, plus blocks of six and ten of the 50c lilac, all tied by "Adn. De Correos Callao" cds, addressed to Ministero di Marina Segret. Generale in Rome, creases at left, and some paper strengthening. This is by far, the highest recorded tariff paid during the occupation, and blocks of six and ten are known only on this front
