 | Lot #328 FRENCH COLONIES Senegal Flight Covers 1923 survey flight of Latecoere planes cover to Paris, with Mayor of Dakar seal imprint, and Paris arrival. In 1923, "Flight" magazine reported: "Projected Transatlantic Air Line. Three aeroplanes belonging to the Lignes Aeriennes Latecoeres left Casablanca for Dakar, a distance of 1,600 miles, at dawn on May 3. They reached Agadir during the day, and were due at Dakar the following night. This flight is undertaken with a view to the ultimate opening of a regular mail service between France and South America." An important addition to a South Atlantic airmail exhibit - this flight was the first step in building the South Atlantic service.
