| Lot #382 MARITIME MAIL IN THE AMERICAS PUERTO RICO 1872 (12 Mar) FL from Verges Hermanos in Arroyo to New York, endorsed "per Brazil Steamer", franked with 4d vermilion (pl.12), cancelled "C51" oval of St. Thomas. Since the British post office in Arroyo did not open until October 24, 1872, there are no postal markings from Puerto Rico, even though the British adhesive was almost certainly applied there.
