| Lot #362 MARITIME MAIL IN THE AMERICAS PERU 1873 (13 Sep) cover from Callao to Hartford, Ct., franked with pair of 6d chestnut (pl.12), used in combination with a horizontal pair of 1 dinero green paying the double internal postage rate, all stamps, including the Peru pair cancelled by "C38" obliterators, with Callao departure pmk on back, carried to Panama by Pacific Steam Navigation Company steamer, with a three line "Panama Transit" datestamp, transferred to American packet, with "New York Oct. 1, 20 U.S. Notes" applied on arrival, also "20" in crayon, all indicating the amount due, double the incoming steamship rate, fine and extremely rare mixed franking from Peru, signed Holcombe
