| Lot #403 MARITIME MAIL IN THE AMERICAS URUGUAY 1861-63 group of 10 letters, actually a single correspondence, sent unpaid from Montevideo to Saddleworth, England, carried mostly by "Mersey," also "Imperatriz," with Manchester transit and London arrival pmks. Each cover has oval Montevideo departure datestamp; no Uruguayan postage was paid due to treaty with the British. The established packet rate to England was one shilling. The addresses were woolen cloth manufacturers and the letters relate to sales in Uruguay, some cover wear and minor faults, mostly fine and unusual correspondence
