MARITIME MAIL IN THE AMERICAS ARGENTINA
1875 (18 June) cover from Buenos Aires to Lyon, franked on back with single 5c vermilion (placed on the backflap and torn on opening), cancelled by pen stroke, with departure cds on front, sent via the French post office, paying 1fr with 80c and 2x10c Ceres, cancelled partially by pen and additionally tied by "1769" numerals applied on arrival at Le Havre, with framed "Affranchisement Insuffissant" (despite the fact that the rate appears to have been properly paid) and Paris (23 July) entry pmk, also "Por Savoie" (which left Buenos Aires on 20th June and arrived in Marseilles on 21st July), handstamp on both sides, inexplicably charged "2" (decimes) with "20 Centimes" endorsement on back, some cover faults, otherwise fine and unusual
