 | Lot #226 MARITIME MAIL IN THE AMERICAS ARGENTINA 1874 (26 Aug) cover from Buenos Aires to Paris, franked with single 5c vermilion, cancelled by pen stroke, with departure cds below, sent via the French post office, paying 1fr with 80c and pair of 10c Ceres, cancelled by Anchor and pen, with "Buenos Ayres Paq Fr. J No.6" datestamp, also single "Por Erymanthe" hs (applied by "bureau auxiliiaire", an office which handled mail for merchant houses). The Messageries Maritimes steamer "Arymanthe" departed Buenos Aires on 26th August and arrived Bordeaux on 26th September, with faint pmk on back, some cover faults, with Sismondo cert.  | Price Realized $400.00 |
