 | Lot #935 BRITISH COMMONWEALTH NEW BRUNSWICK 1858 3d bright red, diagonal bisect (margins all around but creased at top corner), used in combination with 6d olive yellow, margins all around to just touching, tied by "1" grill cancels on small cover (Miss Smith correspondence) to London, docketed 20 September 1858 at left, with departure postmark on back, red London (Oct 4) arrival, minor cover faults, otherwise fine and scarce usage of a bisected stamp to pay the 1/2 ounce letter rate to England, via a British packet fro Halifax (effective 1854-1860), with 1953 Royal cert., ex-Chaplin, Moody, Mackie, Koh and Wilkinson collections
