 | Lot #1569 RUSSIA - ZEMSTVO YELISAVETGRAD 1876 10k gray blue (error) instead of red, unused with large part original gum, minor creases and adhesions, small thin, fine appearance, only 7 examples recorded. Also included is 20k blue, part sheet of 11 (position 6 excised), plus 10k red pane of 5, position 6 blank, some creases, ex-Lentz, Faberge. During the preparation of this printing, two pulls were interchanged by mistake. Thus, in the sheet of each value, the 6th stamp was of the wrong value. By the time 20k was discovered in the "red" sheet, the "blue" sheet was already printed with the 10k error in the sixth position. The error was removed from the sheets already printed; while the corresponding error on the "red" value was corrected on the plate, with blank space printed in plate of the 6th stamp (Schmidt 5,6,5A) * Catalog #6,7,5b | Price Realized $7,500.00 |
