 | Lot #7790 ITALY ITALIAN OFFICES IN CHINA - PECHINO 1919 "2 DOLLARI Pechino" local handstamp type II on 5 Lire, unused with full original gum, never hinged (!), exceptionally well centered, fresh colors and post office fresh, v.f., pencil signed by various great Italian experts including Alberto Diena, Gulio Bolaffi, Silvano Sorani and others, with 1995 Sorani certificate ("il rarissimo francoboli ha soprastampe originali, gomma integra originali ed e perfetto"). Only 15 (both used and unused) examples of this surcharge are recorded, this certainly ranking among the finest known.
