1862 (Oct 29) outer FL cover from Naples to Athens, with ''Napoli/(Porto)'' cds, also showing "2" in manuscript, partly hidden by the franking, denoting a double weight letter rate to be applied on arrival, this 224 Lepta charge being endorsed in red crayon at base, paid by 1861 Paris Printing 2x2L, and pair of 80L, just touched at right frame line, in combination with 1862-67 Second Athens Printing 40L and 20L, the latter coming from the earliest printing. Scarce franking, with Tseriotis cert.

1862 (11 July) FL from Syros to Kalamai, forwarded by a French steamship (as per the Post Office circular of October 7th 1861, fixing the rates for domestic transport by foreign ships from Syros at 30 lepta for French and 40 lepta for Austrian steamers). This letter was initially charged 60 Lepta (in crayon on back) paid with 20L blue and 40L light mauve on blue, both with margins all around and tied by "67" numerals. The rate was changed to "65" (in red crayon) and additional 5L green (defective) was added at upper left, well away from the address portion, fine and interesting postal history item, with elaborate Tseriotis cert. ("this is the only such rare for domestic transport by a French vessel known to me.")
