| Lot #1660 GREECE 1862 (11 July) FL from Syros to Kalamai, forwarded by a French steamship (as per the Post Office circular of October 7th 1861, fixing the rates for domestic transport by foreign ships from Syros at 30 lepta for French and 40 lepta for Austrian steamers). This letter was initially charged 60 Lepta (in crayon on back) paid with 20L blue and 40L light mauve on blue, both with margins all around and tied by "67" numerals. The rate was changed to "65" (in red crayon) and additional 5L green (defective) was added at upper left, well away from the address portion, fine and interesting postal history item, with elaborate Tseriotis cert.
