GERMAN EAST AFRICA P.O.W. Mail to and within Occupied G.E.A.
1914 cover from a German prisoner in the camp at Ahmednagar, India to his wife in Neu Moschi, German East Africa. Since New Moschi was still in German hands, the cover was sent to the POW Administration Bureau in London (Jan.18,1915), returned to sender (rather than to pass it across the lines from British East Africa under flag of truce), with five different censor markings including "Passed by Censor Bombay", fine

1917-18 collection of 12 covers and cards, including India to Amani (German prisoners were held in external POW camps in India, Egypt and Portuguese East Africa), Camp Maadi, Egypt to Wugiri (from Baron Oeynhausen), Sidi Bishr to Dar-es-Salaam, Boma to Morogoro, Tanga to Wilhemstal, also political officer's mail (one from the Evangelical Mission at Hofenfriedeberg in the occupied Usambara district to Mission Supply Depot in Wuga), letter from Switzerland, mailed just after the Armistice under the auspices of the International Red Cross, to a women's camp in Amani, etc., all neatly written up on pages
