 | Lot #68 GERMAN EAST AFRICA Konigsberg/Mowe Provisional Issue 1914 (11/1) picture postcard mailed on the supply ship "SMS Mowe", with mixed franking 5pf Deutsches Reich and 4h Deutsche-Ostafrika, addressed to Germany. The ship was scuttled in Dar-es-Salaam harbor later that year and her inventory of Deutsches Reich adhesives eventually was used by the postal authorities to augment the Protectorate's dwindling supply of Yacht stamps  | Price Realized $280.00 |
 | Lot #69 GERMAN EAST AFRICA Konigsberg/Mowe Provisional Issue 1915-16 3pf Germania (used as 2 1/2h), "Mohoro Deutsch Ostafrika" cancel, v.f. and rare, signed Grobe. A small stock of Germania Deutches Reich stamps were salvaged from the light cruiser "S.M.S. Konigsberg" (scuttled in the Rufiji delta in mid-1915) and the survey ship "S.M.S. Mowe" (sunk in Dar-es-Salaam harbor early in the War). The stamps were divided amongst the eight larger post offices which were suffering from a shortage of stamps.
