 | Lot #118 GERMAN EAST AFRICA Fieldpost - Postal Agency Cancels 1915 (Aug 1) fieldpost from Mombo to Sakkarani, with Wilhelmsthal (11/8) pmk on back (some faults), faint pmk at bottom right. The cover is addressed to Frau von Prince, widow of Captain Tom von Prince (a German officer, son of a British police governor of Mauritius and a German mother. He was known as "Bwana Sakkarani") who captured Taveta and later fell at Tanga. It was firmly believed by the British soldiers that "Bibi Sakkarani" (Frau Magdalene von Prince) commanded a German askari patrol and avenged her husband by taking no prisoners  | Unsold |
 | Lot #119 GERMAN EAST AFRICA Fieldpost - Postal Agency Cancels 1915 (21.6) "Feldpostbrief" sent by a Sgt. Wilhelm Stuhr, a rubber planter in civilian life, from Kilwa (large "15" year-date), to his plantation manager in Liwale. Fieldpost letters and cards were frequently sent from the already existing postal agencies, in which case the regular town cancel was used. During the war, four fieldpost stations (Taveta, plus Stations Nos. 1,2, and 3) were established, each with its own canceller. In addition, several travelling auxiliary or provisional Fieldpost stations operated behind the constantly moving and changing front lines.
