1931 Iceland Flight combination - 5c United States stationery entire, carried from the ship "City of Los Angeles" to San Pedro (California) on the Goodyear airship "Volunteer." It was then additionally franked with 25c and flown to New York and crossed the Atlantic on the German ship "Europa" and dispatched by Catapult to Southampton, England. The 2M (South America) adhesive was applied aboard the "Europa." The cover was then flown via Stuttgart (25.6) and Friedrichshafen (30.6) on the "Graf Zeppelin" to Reykjavik (1.7), with appropriate cachets including "First Ship to Shore Experimental Flight San Pedro California" on back. A remarkable journey on two airships and a catapult, one of only five known, signed "Gappe"
