Lot #1440 MEXICO 1866 Maximilian, 13c blue (lithographed), Mexico overprint, block of 49 (7x7) unused with original gum, h.r., folded vertically and horizontally between stamps, creases, mostly between stamps, fine-v.f. When the "Eagle" issue was demonetized, a short run of only 5,106 Maximilians 13c were printed, with the name "Mexico," without consignment number, to be exchanged for "Eagles" still in the hands of postal customers.
