1877 (30 Sep) FL from Quito to Paris, franked with 1/2 real blue, tied by "3154" in lozenge, paying the local rate, transferred to the British Post Office in Guayaquil (Oct 2), with Panama transit (Oct 5), place onboard the RMS "Nile" leaving Colon on 6th October, via St.Thomas, with London transit (30 Oct) and Paris arrival pmks. This letter was charged 23 (decimes), with "1-70" (for 30 grams indicating amount due to England for sea and transit charges on unpaid letters from the Pacific coast of South America, as per the Anglo-French postal convention of 1876-1881), fine and attractive item
