1851 printed 4-page folio in Cyrillic and German, headed "by order of Nikolai Pavlovich, sovereign of all Russia", bearing Imperial Arms and signed by the Military Governor of Erevan and entitling the holder to the right of passage in the territory, fine and decorative document, used during the Russian military campaign in the Caucuses

ARMENIA
1922 folded document registered from Allaverdy to Erevan, franked with perforated 25r gray, surcharge omitted, tied by "Allaverdy, Tifl. 13.2.22" cds, with Erevan 16.2.33 arrival pmk. This is the only known usage of 25r First Constantinople Issue without surcharge. The rate at the time was 1,500r, but it was possible for the official Soviet organizations to use the low 25r rate. Very few used examples of 25r exist, this being the unique cover. A wonderful gem of Armenian philately (described in the C.Zakiyan monograph), last sold through Cherrystone in April 2004 (lot 377, $24,750 including 10% commission)
