1902-17 collection of 28 covers or cards written up on pages, including Nizhniy Perm Steamer, covers posted on board ships in the Baltic Sea, to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsingfors, Lubeck, Hamburg, Wiborg, Mariehamn (Aland Islands), Abo, also across the Gulf of Bothnia (cover from Vasa to Stockholm, opened by censor, cancelled in Sundsvall, Sweden), also Batum-Odessa, Nizhny-Astrahan (Volga River) Steamer, Nizhniy Rybinsk, White Sea (Belo-morye) card from Kem (route originated in Arkhangelsk-Kem-Keret-Kandalasha-Umba-Kovda), also Dniepr, Lena and Volga River mail, plus 1917 cover from Vladivostok to USA, via Tsurugua and Yokohama, also some stamps incl. multiples (many Romanov adhesives) with various interesting Ship Mail pmks, fine-v.f. and compact representation of Russian ship mail

1913 (26.10) cover originating from Riga, traveling via Finland (either Helsingfors or Abo) to Sweden, where it was taken to the Stockholm post office. The "Fran Finland" handstamp designated it as ship-mail (probably ex-Finland despite its Riga origin), charged 2k concessionary fee, with 2k Romanov adhesive postmarked at Stockholm, filing fold at bottom, otherwise fine

RUSSIA Russian Ship Mail
1913 (20.7) cover (with company's cachet on backflap) to Helsinki, put ashore at Stettin, Germany (today Szczecin, Poland) where the Russian franking (strip of 5x2k Romanov) were cancelled. The use of Russian stamps was initially deemed invalid and the "T" was applied to tax the letter as unfranked mail. The "T" was then crossed out, as the cachet "Aus Dampfschiff" (From Steamship) validated the stamps, with Helsingfors arrival 22.7.14 on back, v.f.

RUSSIA Russian Ship Mail
1914 (5.8) picture postcard franked with 4k Romanov, written by a Danish worker in Vladivostok to Copenhagen. The War, which started two days earlier, cut off Russia from Europe. This card was put on board a ship leaving Vladivostok for Japan, where the "Paquebot" cachet was applied. At Tsuruga, the card was postmarked 20.8.14, went across Japan to Yokohama (28.8) and from there to America and Denmark. This postcard traveled nearly three-quarters of the way round the world, some toning and corner creases, fine
