 | Lot #1003 LIBYA 1860-1911 The Ottoman Empire rule in Libya extended from the 1500s until 1912 when Italy won control of the area. It was during the last 50 years of Ottoman rule that the postal system of Libya came into existence. A collection of the "Ottoman Postal Service" formed by M.A. Siala, written up on pages, with 29 telegrams and 35 covers/cards, plus dozens of Turkish stamps cancelled in Libya. Different pmks and usages include Benghazi, Dernah, Tripoli, Tarabulus Gharb, special internal seals used between Islamic Courts, official letter from Mohamed Amin (governor of Tripolitania)
