| Lot #5144 RUSSIA Flight Covers 1929 (4.6) registered and flown cover from Leipzig, Germany, via Moscow (6.6), with three-line "Poluchen. z Vosdushnoj Pochtoj" (received by air mail) handstamp, to Japan, with Tsuruga (21.6) and Tokyo (22.6) arrival pmks, with "via Siberia" endorsement at top. The Trans-Siberian air line eastward to Irkutsk became operational in 1929. Mail to and from the Orient was linked to the Chinese Eastern Railroad and to Russia's Far East by the Trans-Siberian Railroad to Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. This cover was flown from Moscow to Irkutsk and transferred via the Chinese Eastern Railroad to Japan, filing folds, and cover flaws, otherwise fine
