 | Lot #808 MEXICO U.S. SHIPS - 1868-69 Wells Fargo 1868 FL from Mazatlan, April 2 to Mexico City, originally placed inside another letter carried by a Pacific Mail Steamship Co. ship to Acapulco where it was forwarded by "Dualda Lezarraga" who affixed an 1861 adhesive (2r black on pink, without district name) and placed it in the mail, with 17th April arrival pmk. Nov." strike, also with 12 centavos Mexican stamp at bottom tied by November 15 Franco Mazatlan datestamp, addressed to San Francisco. The Wells Fargo frank includes "Paid over our Mexican and California Express --25 Cts", which probably explains the absence of the usual 7 cents due, fine mixed franking | Price Realized $4,750.00 |
