1866 FL dated 19th November, used from Ponce to New York, with blue forwarding agent's cachet "Forwarded by J.Arena & Co. Nov.22, 1866" and "S.Michelena Dec.18, 1866 New York" in black, endorsed "Maripoza", v.f. This letter was carried by a Spanish packet-boat which bypassed the US postal system, hence the lack of New York rate marks. This probably reflects the fact that Puerto Rico was not included in the Tables of Rates for Foreign Countries added to the British-US Treaty
