COLOMBIA Private Air Companies
1923-30 Compania Santandereana de Aviacion (COSADA), founded in 1923, was a subsidiary of Scadta. After some survey flights in late January 1926 between Puerto Wilches and Bucaramanga, regular service started in March 1926. In August of 1929, the company began service between Bucaramanga and Barranca Bermeja. Scadta stamps were used for the airmail postage; departmental issues for express mail services were printed in Cucuta and sold at Scadta offices. Cosada ceased operations in July 1930. A specialized collection with 28 covers including first flights, variety of frankings and combination usages, showing a nice range of provisionals, used and unused with a selection of Express Mail "Correo Rapido Norte Santander", "Provisional Cucuta" including "Recomendado", tete-beche multiples, "Provicional" (second printing), all mounted and written up on pages, fine-v.f. A fascinating collection, of considerable interest to specialists
