 | Lot #1816 RUSSIA Russian Post Office in Beirut 1863 cover franked with 2x10kop perf. 12 1/2 (1858 Issue), cancelled by "783" numeral in truncated triangle of dots, addressed to the Italian Consul General in Constantinople, bearing a good strike of "Port Beirut 15 Aug 1863" (Tchilingirian fig.217) on back (another faint strike on front of the cover) . The letter rate from Beirut to Constantinople in 1863 was 20kop for up to 1 lot (12,8 grams), intact wax seal on reverse, fine and possibly the only recorded cover from the Russian Post Office in Beirut bearing Russian stamps of 1858 issue
