10k brown & blue, plate II, sheet margin at right, variety showing damage of background between "10" and "kop" at bottom left, cancelled by pen and tied by red "Sterlitamak" (prov. Ufa) 23 June, 1858 pmk in red on back of a small cover, addressed in both Cyrilic and Arabic letters to Kazan. A rare if not unique usage of Russia Number One from the far flung-corner of the Russian Empire (present day Bashkortostan near the city of Ufa, its capital)
