| Lot #524 ALGERIA 1942 stampless cover from Laghouat Internment Camp (mailing address c/o U.S. Consul, Algiers), on the border of the Sahara Desert, administered by the Vichy French and supervised by the Italo-German Armistice Commission,with "Opened by Examiner 445" label and Alger cds, fine. The camp held RAF Airmen shot down in the Mediterranean and the sender of this cover was a secret agent with S.O.E. arrested by the Vichy, who later escaped, an interesting item
