 | Lot #2090 NEWFOUNDLAND Air Post. 1919 Hawker, 3c red brown, unusually well centered and fresh, l.h., v.f., signed A.Diena, E.Diena, etc., with 1956 PFC. The stamp derives its name from the pilot, H.G. Hawker who attempted the first non-stop flightover the Atlantic. The plane was forced down about 1,000 miles to sea and the mailbag was salvaged.
